In Loving Memory of Eugene Kay - April 19, 2008 "RIP"
Eugene aka "Gene" was the Head Tumbling Instructor for Cheer Connection.  Gene came to us in November 2004 from an internet ad inquiry we made seeking a tumbling instructor for our program.  His power tumbling skills and coaching techniques were exactly what we needed for our team members as well as other interested individuals or groups seeking quality instruction. Gene had been in gymnastics for 22 years and coaching/instructing for 10 years. He  instructed many group sessions and individual lessons at YMCA's in different areas across the states. He held certifications in first aid and CPR, instructor membership through USA Gymnastics and USAG safety certification.

Gene was also enlisted in the U.S. Air Force and assigned to Andrews Air Force in Clinton, Maryland.  He held rank as a Staff Sergant with the Air Force, Office of Special Investigations.  The sudden lost of not only an Airman, Wingman, and Worrior but very dedicated, hardworking, loyal instructor who loved "GYMNASTICS/TUMBLING.  He will be truely be missed by many.

In 1998 he joined the Acro-Airs, an Acro-exhibition team in  that mixes aspects of gymnastics and cheerleading and performed with them for the better part of 5 years.  He quickly developed an appreciation for cheerleading and shortly begin working in the field by teaching the tumbling and pyramid building aspects of the sport.  He has been a tumbling instructor for the past 3 years working with various cheerleading organizations.
